Hanna Shybayeva, a renowned pianist originally from St. Petersburg, began her international career at the age of 11, evolving from a prodigious "child prodigy" into an expressive and captivating musician. Known for her deep emotional interpretations, engaging energy, and rich tonal palette, she performs as a soloist, chamber musician, and accompanist with equal passion.
Her education includes studies with esteemed mentors such as Dmitri Bashkirov, Ferenc Rados, and Naum Grubert, the latter of whom she studied with at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, graduating with the highest honors.
Hanna has garnered numerous awards at international competitions in Europe and the USA, performing extensively in prestigious venues and festivals worldwide, such as the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Beethoven Festival Bonn, and New Music Week Shanghai.
Since 2008, Hanna has been a member of the New European Ensemble, known for its innovative approach to contemporary music. She has also led chamber projects like "Symphonic Intimacy," exploring historical arrangements of symphonic works, including acclaimed recordings of Beethoven and Mahler symphonies.
Hanna's recordings span labels like Philips/Universal, Etcetera, and Brilliant Classics, with repertoire ranging from Chopin and Rachmaninoff to contemporary composers. Her duo album Sounds of War with violinist Maria Milstein won the 2015 Edison Klassiek Award for Chamber Music.
Currently, Hanna Shybayeva is a piano professor at the Amsterdam Conservatory and has been a faculty member at the Anton Rubinstein Academy for several years, sharing her expertise with students worldwide.
