Gesa Lücker
Biography
Born in Braunschweig, she has been performing since her early childhood and studied at the Hanover University of Music and Theatre with Martin Dörrie and Matti Raekallio until her concert exam, as well as taking courses with Arie Vardi, Fabio Bidini and Jerome Rose. She has won prizes from the Bruno Frey Foundation, the Hanover Chopin Society and national and international competitions.
Numerous concert tours regularly take Gesa Lücker throughout Germany, the USA, China and European countries, to venues such as the main broadcasting hall of NDR Hanover, Yamaha Hall and Carnegie Hall (Weill Recital Hall) in New York, London's Wigmore Hall and He Luting Hall in Shanghai. She has given recitals, masterclasses and lectures on several tours in China, including Shanghai (Oriental Arts Centre), Suzhou (Culture and Arts Center), Nanjing (Nanjing Arts Center) and Beijing (Tsinghua University, China Conservatory of Music) and in New York City as a regular guest of the International Keyboard Institute and Festival. Her chamber music partners include soloists from the Amsterdam Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra as well as Tanja Becker-Bender, Christoph Eß and Sayaka Schmuck. Gesa Lücker has been a professor of piano in Cologne since October 2010. Since then, a number of her students have won several prizes at national and international competitions.
