Gabriele Leporatti
Biography
Gabriele Leporatti, praised by critics for his passionate playing full of aesthetic depth, was born in Italy and now resides in Germany. At just 19, he graduated with "summa cum laude" honors from the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory in Florence. Further studies led him to world-renowned pianists like Fabio Bidini, Maria Tipo, Jerome Rose, and Joaquin Achúcarro. He was awarded a special prize at the 2003 Bremen Piano Competition and the Dorothy McKenzie Award in New York.
Leporatti performs in solo recitals and as a chamber musician, collaborating with artists such as Eva Mei and Fabio Bidini, as well as soloists from the Amsterdam Concertgebouw and the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. His extensive tours have taken him across Europe, South Africa, China, Turkey, and the USA, performing in venues like London’s Wigmore Hall, the Small Broadcasting Hall of NDR Hanover, and the He Luting Hall in Shanghai. In 2009, he made his New York debut with a solo recital at the International Keyboard Institute and Festival at the Mannes College of Music. His recordings include the solo album The Young Brahms. A sought-after educator, he has taught annually since 2011 at the International Keyboard Institute and Festival at the Mannes College of Music in New York.
Since 2012, he has been a piano instructor and Head of the Piano Department at the International Music Academy Anton Rubinstein in Düsseldorf.
