Anita Mishoukova
Biography
Anita Mishoukova was born in St. Petersburg and grew up in a family of musicians with a rich tradition. In 1999, she graduated with distinction from the Special Music School for Gifted Children at the State Conservatory in St. Petersburg. She furthered her studies at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia (USA), the Royal Academy of Music in London, and the University of Music, Drama, and Media in Hanover. Her teachers included Alla Aranovsky, Ilya Ioff, Mikhail Gantvarg, Victor Danchenko, and Krzysztof Wegrzyn. She also received artistic inspiration from Yehudi Menuhin, Ana Chumachenko, Shlomo Mintz, Tibor Varga, Wolfgang Marschner, and Zakhar Bron.
Her international accolades include the 4th Prize and the Tchaikovsky Prize at the Tchaikovsky Competition in Russia, the 1st Prize at the Kingsville Competition (USA), the Solti Award and Carnegie Prize in London, the Jürgen Sellheim Prize, and the 2nd Prize at the Mozart Competition in Gdańsk.
As an internationally established soloist, Anita has performed at festivals such as Musicorda (USA), Lockenhaus (Austria), Verbier (Switzerland), Keshet Eilon (Israel), and Holland Music Sessions (Netherlands). Her concert tours span Europe and Asia.
A sought-after chamber music partner, she has collaborated with Lynn Harrell, Zlata Chochieva, Yuja Wang, Oliver Wille, Patricia Kopatchinskaja, and her early music ensemble "Il Vecchio Castello."
As a guest concertmaster, she regularly works with the Dortmund Philharmonic, MusicAeterna Orchestra, and the London Symphony Orchestra. She has performed under renowned conductors such as Teodor Currentzis, Simon Rattle, Wolfgang Sawallisch, John Williams, Roger Norrington, Yuri Temirkanov, André Previn, Gabriel Feltz, Thomas Netopil, and many others.
Anita has served as concertmaster for the Northwest German Philharmonic and the Essen Philharmonic and was recently appointed First Concertmaster of the National Theater Mannheim.
Since 2020, she has been a faculty member at the Anton Rubinstein Academy.
Anita Mishoukova plays a Joseph Gagliano violin from a private collection.
