Alexander Prushinskiy
Biography
Alexander Prushinskiy was born in 1981 in Novosibirsk, Russia, into a family of musicians. He began studying music at the age of six, receiving lessons in violin and piano. From 1987 to 1999, he attended the Novosibirsk Music School, where he studied under Prof. Liberman and Prof. Gvozdev, the latter a student of David Oistrakh. In 1998, he continued his studies at the Magnitogorsk Music Academy with Prof. Gvozdev and Prof. Glazunov, graduating in 1999. That same year, he was awarded a scholarship for postgraduate studies at the renowned 'Escuela de la Música Reina Sofía' in Madrid, where he studied with Prof. Zakhar Bron.
In 2001, Alexander pursued further studies at the Cologne University of Music under Prof. Zakhar Bron, earning a diploma in Artistic Instrumental Training in 2008.
Since 2009, Alexander Prushinskiy has held the position of 1st concertmaster with the Dortmund Philharmonic Orchestra. From the 2011 season onward, he has also served as 1st concertmaster of the Netherlands Radio Symphony Orchestra.
Throughout his career, Alexander has won prizes in numerous national competitions and received scholarships from prestigious organizations, including 'Young Talents of Siberia,' 'The New Names,' the Moscow Newspaper Publishing Foundation, and the Novosibirsk City Foundation.
He has performed as a soloist with orchestras in many of the world’s leading concert halls, including those in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Madrid, Barcelona, Athens, São Paulo, Zurich, Miami, Tokyo, Berlin, and Munich.
Alexander’s teacher, Zakhar Bron, was a pivotal influence in his musical development. He has also performed with celebrated musicians Yuri Bashmet and Gidon Kremer as part of the Kronberg Academy. Alexander has gained further inspiration through masterclasses with prominent figures such as Yehudi Menuhin, Itzhak Perlman, Vadim Repin, Maxim Vengerov, Dora Schwarzberg, Mstislav Rostropovich, Robert Masters, Arie Vardi, Vladimir Spivakov, and Herman Krebbers.
In addition to his performance career, Alexander Prushinskiy has been a faculty member at the International Music Academy Anton Rubinstein for several years, where he is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of musicians.
