Masterclass for Piano with Prof. Ilja Scheps

Join us for an inspiring piano masterclass with the internationally renowned pianist and professor Ilja Scheps. This course offers advanced pianists the opportunity to refine their technique, deepen their musical interpretation, and receive expert artistic guidance from a highly experienced performer and educator.

Each active participant will receive one individual lesson with Prof. Ilja Scheps.

This masterclass is offered in connection with the Schumann Award 2027 and is open to both participants of the competition and other interested pianists who wish to develop their performance skills and artistic expression. The course provides an excellent opportunity for professional feedback, intensive musical work, and artistic inspiration.

Ilja Scheps studied at the Moscow P. I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory with Professors Lev Vlassenko and Evgenij Schenderowitch. From 1982 to 1992, he was a soloist with the Moscow Philharmonic Society and performed extensively in orchestral concerts and solo recitals.

Since moving to Germany in 1992, he has established himself as a highly respected piano pedagogue. He has held teaching positions at several German music institutions and, since 2003, has been Professor of Piano at the Cologne University of Music. His students have achieved numerous successes at international competitions.

Ilja Scheps regularly gives masterclasses worldwide and serves as a jury member at prestigious international piano competitions. Since 2022, he has also been teaching at the International Anton Rubinstein Music Academy in Düsseldorf.
